MEANING OF HTML

Posted by Unknown
we came to know that HTML is acronym for "Hyper Text Mark-up Language" .But what does it actually mean ?
Here we find the actual Meaning of HTML.

1. Hyper :

Hyper is the opposite of linear. Old-fashioned computer programs were necessarily linear - that is, they had a specific order. But with a "hyper" language such as HTML, the user can go anywhere on the web page at any time.

2. Text :

Text is just what you're looking at now - English characters used to make up ordinary words.

3.— Mark-up :

Mark-up is what is done to the text to change its appearance. For instance, "marking up" your text with <b> before it and </b> after it will put that text in bold.

4.— Language :

Language is just that. HTML is the language that computers read in order to understand web pages.

There are some other definitions you need to understand before going into HTML.They are:
        1.Browser
               2.website

            1.Browser:

A browser is a software application that allows you to view HTML documents, whether Web pages or HTML files, on your own computer. Two popular browsers are Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator.

           2.website :

A Website stores information that has been organized into individual hypermedia documents, Web pages, and holds it on a server for distribution across the Internet.
